Ant McPartlin was subjected to a police search for drugs before he was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving, Mirror Online can exclusively reveal.
The star was held by police after his Mini was involved in a three-car crash in south-west London on Sunday March 18, throwing things into chaos at ITV.
Cops searched his crashed car, which contained his mum Christine Woodhall and beloved Labrador dog Hurley at the time of the collision, and offered Ant a breathalyser test, which he failed.
Today, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police told Mirror Online: “No drugs were found on the 42-year-old man arrested or in the vehicle involved in the collision.
“The man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink-driving and was taken to south London police station. He’s been released under investrigation.”
The police also stated that while Ant failed a breathalyser test at the roadside, they couldn’t clarify whether that was because he was over the limit.
