A US military helicopter has crashed in western Iraq, killing seven American soldiers.
The aircraft, a HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopter, was not on a combat mission at the time of the tragedy.
American authorities confirmed all seven people on board had died.
It came down near al-Qaim, a town in Anbar province close to the Syrian border.
Further details of the incident were not yet known.
However, Central Command said an investigation will be launched to determine the cause of the crash, which took place late last night.
The command said the crash did not appear to be a result of enemy activity.
