ITV Slammed For Replacing Saturday Night Takeaway With ‘Inappropriate’ Film after

ITV has been slammed after pulling Saturday Night Takeaway this weekend and replacing it with an inappropriate film.

The show has been cancelled on March 24 after presenter Ant McPartlin was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.

Saturday Night Takeaway usually airs at 7pm and runs for 90 minutes.

But instead, The Voice UK is being pushed forward to its slot and will run for two hours, finishing at 9pm.

An episode of Through The Keyhole hosted by Keith Lemon then airs until 10.05pm – swiftly followed by Fast And The Furious’s fifth instalment in the franchise, Fast Five.

The high-octane film features plenty of dangerous driving, risky road manoeuvres and testosterone-fuelled criminal antics – which presumably isn’t what ITV wants viewers to associate with one of its highest-paid telly stars.

As yet, no charges have been filed against Ant, who failed a breathalyser test given to him by police after his car was involved in a collision with two other vehicles.
