Stacey Solomon has opened up about her heartbreak after trolls accused her of being “too thick” to home school her children.
The 28 year old revealed that she had been left devastated by tweets questioning whether she was intelligent enough to home school her children after pulling them out of education.
Earlier this month, Stacey revealed that she had made the decision to home school her two boys, 10-year-old Zachary and five-year-old Leighton, after she was criticised for taking them on holiday during ‘term time’.
“I’m not usually bothered by anything on Twitter or Instagram or social media and I feel that you’re subject to those comments anyway and you just have to deal with it,” she told the panel. “But there was a lot of people who were saying things like, ‘Stacey, you’re so stupid and dumb, how could you possibly teach your children?'”
Stacey had also said that some had even suggested that she didn’t know how to spell her name, let alone teach a child.
“As much as I shouldn’t take any notice as these people are probably sad in their own lives, in what they’re doing, I think it really struck a chord with me.
“For a long time in my life, even from being a child, I felt like I come across dumb because of my accent and personality and I’ve always been treated that way. I don’t know why, it really struck a chord with me.”
However Nadia Sawalha insisted that she pay no attention and that she was clever.
