Furious This Morning viewers have slammed the daytime show for a ‘disgraceful’ tribute to Professor Stephen Hawking.
The celebrated theoretical physicist, regarded as one of the most intelligent people the world has ever known, died at the age of 76 in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Viewers were stunned that This Morning failed to mention the great man in the opening of today’s show – but had time to mention their TRIC Awards wins.
When a tribute did finally arrive, during the final few seconds of the show, This Morning was blasted for their ‘technical blip’.
Upbeat pop song All About That Bass by Meghan Trainor started to play, then was suddenly cut during the bizarre tribute video.
The ‘inappropriate’ song contains lyrics such as ‘I got all the right junk in all the right places’.
Clips of Stephen Hawking speaking were then played while the This Morning theme tune played before the credits rolled.
Outraged fans called for someone to get ‘sacked’ as they vented about the tribute.
They couldn’t believe that All About That Bass was played over the top and questioned if it had been a technical fault or purposefully chosen.
Just moments before Meghan Trainor’s appearance on the show had been teased, leading to the ‘technical blip’.
