A man and woman have been arrested after the body of a newborn baby girl was found in a bin. Metropolitan Police officers made the discovery in Camden, North London.
The man, 26, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder, child neglect, and concealment of a birth. The 29-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of child destruction.
Both suspects were released on bail pending further enquiries, but the crime scene remains in place.
Scotland Yard was called at 2.06pm on 8 July after a woman who had given birth presented at hospital.
Officers later attended a residential address in Taviton Street, Camden. The baby’s body was found in a container outside the address following a search of the premises.
