A British man has died on a passenger plane after flight staff found him unconscious.
The TAP Air Portugal flight from London to Lisbon had to make an emergency landing in Spain after a medical emergency was declared.
Workers at Santiago de Compostela Airport in the northwestern Galicia region called the the emergency services after being informed of the incident, and paramedics were dispatched ready for the flight’s arrival.
The passenger was later pronounced dead by medical staff. It is believed he suffered a heart attack.
He has been identified only by the initials I. S. Y., and was confirmed to be 71 years old.
It comes only days after a flight from Spain was diverted after an emergency in the sky led to the Jet2 plane needing to land.
