Hundreds evacuated from Lion King West End theatre evacuated as police rush to scene

The Lyceum Theatre was evacuated during a performance of The Lion King this evening (23rd July) following a bomb threat.

Around 5 pm, hundreds of people were instructed to leave the venue in the middle of the performance.

Attendees of the show reported that an alarm signaled the need for an emergency evacuation, causing “confusion” among the crowd.

Police cordoned off the theatre on Wellington Street, London, as they looked into the threat, resulting in performers and audience members being dispersed in the nearby streets.

It has been reported that the Wellington Pub was also temporarily evacuated and cordoned off.
