A man has been charged with murder after a 16-year-old boy had his “throat slashed” in an attack in Huddersfield this week.
Alfie Franco, 20, is due to appear before Leeds Magistrates’ Court today charged with the murder of a 16-year-old in Huddersfield, as well as an offence of possessing a knife in a public place. Enquiries are ongoing into the stabbing, which occurred at around 2.45pm on Ramsden Street in Huddersfield on Thursday. The victim suffered a single wound to the neck and later died in hospital from his injury. Franco was charged overnight and remains in custody ahead of this morning’s court appearance.
A man and a woman who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released on police bail. Enquiries into the incident are continuing, led by the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.
Yesterday, Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Damian Roebuck said: “This is a tragic incident where a young man has lost his life as a result of a knife injury. We have a team of dedicated detectives who are at the scene and investigating this fatal attack.
