Man dies after being found injured on street sparking major police probe

A man has died after being found badly injured on a Fife street sparking a major police investigation.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Boblingen Way in the Tanshall area of Glenrothes in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Medics attended but the man, who has not yet been publicly identified, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A heavy police presence remains in the area while a large cordon has been put in place around the wooded path.

Local reports suggest a forensic tent has also been erected at a nearby block of flats while one resident heard ‘screaming’ around the time of the grim discovery.

Police Scotland confirmed they are currently treating the death as ‘unexplained’.

A force spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Boblingen Way, Glenrothers around 1.40am on Saturday 17 July to reports a man was injured in the street.

“He was pronounced dead at the scene.
