Meghan Markle ‘wanted to live in Windsor Castle’ but had her request denied

Meghan Markle is said to have “wanted to live in Windsor Castle” but had her request declined, with the late Queen feeling that it was “inappropriate.”

The Duchess of Sussex married Prince Harry in Windsor back in 2018, with the couple later gifted the ten-bedroom Frogmore Cottage to use as their home. Frogmore lies within the grounds of Windsor and was close to where Her Late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II spent much of her time – meaning it was the perfect place for a young, growing family to reside.

Reports suggest that Meghan, who rose to fame when she played the role of Rachel Zane in the hit drama series Suits, wanted to live in Windsor. However, the actress-turned-Duchess was soon to learn that this would not be possible.

According to The Times, she even asked if the “living quarters could be made available after their marriage.” But the Duchess and her husband were soon informed this would not be possible, so proceeded to renovate Frogmore. Moving into the cottage in 2019, the couple soon welcomed their first child Prince Archie.
