The dramatic moment a car suddenly erupted into flames at Gatwick Airport was captured in startling footage. The vehicle can be seen emitting smoke as it waits at an exit barrier, before catching fire and becoming engulfed in flames.

The car was left completely destroyed by the blaze. In the footage, chilling explosions can be heard – a stark reminder of the intense heat as it burst the tyres.

The vehicle, a dark-coloured Volkswagen, began smoking as it pulled up to the exit barrier of Car Park 6 at Gatwick. During the incident, a courageous driver in a nearby AA van leapt out with a fire extinguisher in an attempt to assist.
