A busy motorway has been closed, causing delays of up to two hours for motorists, as an air ambulance attends a ‘serious crash’. The M40 is shut between junction 13 for Bishops Tachbrook and junction 14 for Leamington.

A two-vehicle collision has triggered a major emergency response, with an air ambulance present at the scene, and drivers facing delays of up to two hours. The incident occurred earlier this morning, although it is not yet known if there have been any fatalities.

A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police said: ‘We’re currently at the scene of a two-vehicle collision on the northbound stretch of the M40 between junction 13 (Bishops Tachbrook) and junction 14 (Leamington).

‘The road is expected to be closed for at least the next few hours, so please avoid the area and follow diversions where possible.’
