A massive fire has consumed a building directly adjacent to a retail park in Nottinghamshire. Thick plumes of smoke have risen high into the sky as the inferno tears through an industrial waste site at Northgate Retail Park in Newark-on-Trent.
Images depict the flames roaring and smoke billowing from one of the premises on the shopping parade. Businesses at the site include Next, Boots, Peacocks, B&M, and Home Bargains. Other pictures shared online show smoke visible for miles around, with police already at the scene.
A witness said that she had seen fire engines with sirens blaring heading in the direction of the retail park from Collingham.
Fire crews have confirmed that the blaze involves industrial waste in Northgate.
