Huge plumes of smoke were seen across São Paulo today after a plane crashed in the city, killing two people and injuring two others.

The plane, a King Air F90 light aircraft, came down in the western part of the city in an area called Marquês de São Vicente while en route to Porto Alegre. The aircraft was attempting an emergency landing when it collided with a bus, causing the vehicle to burst into flames.

Two charred bodies were found in the wrecked aircraft. One woman inside the bus sustained injuries during the impact, as did a motorcyclist who was passing by at the time. Both are receiving urgent treatment. Images on local media showed the plane’s fuselage and the bus on fire, with firefighters working to extinguish the blaze.
