Police have reportedly surrounded a school in Germany following reports that an armed teenage boy had targeted a schoolgirl.

Heavily armed special police forces surrounded the building in North Rhine-Westphalia, protecting the young people from the attacker, Bild reports.

According to the German news site, the girl is said to have been the boy’s girlfriend.
