Singer Sandy Posey, who had hits with songs including “Single Girl” and “Born A Woman” in the 1960s, has died aged 80.
The star passed away on Saturday morning at home in Tennessee following complications from dementia.
Her husband Wade Cummins confirmed Posey’s death to TMZ and said that she slowly declined over seven years due to her health condition. However, he lamented that she had otherwise been in good health. Posey was surrounded by her family – Cummins, her daughter Amy, and her niece – when she passed away.
