Two women have died in a knife attack at a shopping centre in the Czech Republic on Thursday, officials have said.
Police say they have detained a teenage suspect in connection with the stabbings, which took place in a store in the city of Hradec Králové, around 100km east of Prague.
Initial reports stated that the unidentified victims, who were allegedly saleswomen, had been injured, with one in a serious condition. However, police later confirmed that both had died.
A 16-year-old Czech national was detained by police about one kilometre from the scene on Akademika Bedrny Street shortly after the attack. According to Blick, a knife measuring 20cm in length was found nearby.
