Police urgently hunting man for attempted murder of woman after he tried to push her in front of train in London

POLICE have initiated an urgent search for a “man in a puffer jacket” following the attempted murder of a woman at a Tube station.

The British Transport Police (BTP) were summoned to Leicester Square station in London shortly after 3.30 pm on November 6.

The force reported being called to incidents of a man attempting to push a woman in front of an incoming train.

The victim was waiting on the platform at the London Underground station when she observed the suspect arguing with an elderly man.

He then approached, seized her arm, and commenced dragging her. She briefly managed to escape, BTP said. As the train approached, the suspect then seized the victim’s arm again and began pushing her towards the tracks. Two have-a-go heroes intervened and pulled her away from him.

The suspect is then reported to have boarded the train. An attempted murder investigation is now underway, and detectives are appealing for witnesses.
