A man has been charged with attempted murder following a brutal incident in which a teenager was stabbed 30 times on a bus in the southwest of Sydney.

An 18-year-old was discovered with critical injuries at a bus stop located at the intersection of Sackville Street and Barff Road in Ingleburn earlier this week.

He was swiftly transported to Liverpool Hospital and is currently in stable condition.

According to police, the incident appears to be a random attack, and they have now charged a man with attempted murder in connection to the stabbing of the teenager on the bus in the southwest of Sydney.
